The Poisonous Mushroom
In class, Mr. McKenna gave us a story to read, it was called The Poisonous Mushroom. Basically the moral of this childrens book, is make German children hate Jewish people for stupid, nonexistent reasons. I remember that in a part of the story, they come to say that a single Jew can take out a whole village of Germans. They also say that Jewish people pretend to be nice just to scam people out of money. Another major point this story makes about Jews is that not all non-Jewish people know that Jewish people are bad...but that the son can help by letting people know how bad a Jewish person is. Stalingrad
I remember watching a movie in class about Stalingrad and the Red Army would actually kill their own men if they tried to retreat. Which I don't understand how they can kill the men that are running back to them, if they, themselves are just sitting there in the first place. Also why would you want to the killer of someone who is trying to help your side out...wouldn't the other guys killing them be enough. Doesn't winning a war have a part where you actually need men...by the rate the Russian Army is going, that they are going to have any men left. Another thing is, if you were to shoot someone that was on your side would you play it off, by saying that they were killing in battle? Like what if the same man that killed someone had to go to the family of the dead man and tell them that their father, husband, son, brother, uncle. or whatever he was to them was now dead. Would that soldier have to confess that he in fact was the man that took his life.

Pavlov's House
When Mr. McKennna told us about how Pavlo and his men help off the Germans for 58 days and succeeded, I was amazed. I couldnt believe that for that whole two months a group of men help off so many Germans especially since they Germans had to have been coming in groups bigger than the Russian group. However, not that things would have been easier but the fact that Germans werent using artillery strikes gave the Russians somewhat of an advantage because they just had to worry about killing the men and not have to think about being bombed from the air.
