Franz Ferdinand

I think its stupid that Franz didnt listen to General Oskar Potiorek, when obvioulsy the general knew what he was talking about....if Franz would have listened he would have seen that his wife and himself might have lived a longer life.  I also dont get how people who wanted to kill Franz were able to just keep trying to kill him. How come nobody ever tried to stop them or anything?

Why make an alliance with Bismark??

Why is i that Bismark is trying to rebuild a new image, but this happens to be right after the Treaty of Frankfurt...how is it people still agree with what he was doing and joined his alliance reguardless. Also during all of this he is still isolating france nd trying to build alliances with people against France, why is it that so many people believe that what he is doing is right?

Treaty of Frankfurt??

When we were reading about the Treaty of Frankfurt in class, I was suprised that Bismark would go to the idea of trying starve people into signing the treaty.  Wouldnt you think that would be against some law somewhere...I mean how is it that these places can go around starving eachother and not get in trouble from someone somewhere.

What I like about World Wars....

I feel that learning about a major part of the past, such as world wars, is important, because in order to prevent them from reoccurring again, we need to know why they were caused in the first place.  I also find the whole concept that of people fighting for a certain resource or item, interesting.
